Meaningful Bracelets

Recently I've just bought two new bracelets, I honestly never wear bracelets because they’re a little annoying, but the two I bought have meaning behind them and the meaning helps me live a better and happier life.

The first bracelet I bought was from CREATIVEdesignbyTHAO and I found it through a website called Etsy where small businesses can put their stuff up. It’s a beautiful heartbeat bracelet. Though it wasn't cheap it was worth every penny and means a lot to me and I've worn it every day since I've bought it.
I don’t know if I think too deep and try to find meaning to everything, but for me this bracelet means that no matter how bad or hard life gets don’t give up because you’re still alive, so keep going and don’t waste your life! I want to be able to look down at it when I’m having a bad day and just be able to tell myself that it will get better. But that’s just how I see it :)

The second bracelet is totally different but similar at the same time. It called a lokai bracelet which you can find here http://mylokai.com/shop/lokai-bracelet-clear.html. The bracelet has a black bead at one end and a white at the other. The black bead is filled with mud from the Dead Sea (the lowest point on earth) meaning stay hopeful. The white bead holds water from Mt. Everest (highest point on earth) meaning stay humble. What links the two are clear beads symbolizing your journey- Keep moving. The meaning of the bracelet is balance; I think it’s a beautiful message one that I hope to live by.

Be You

People are too caught up in trends, what everyone is wearing and doing. We all do it and I don’t even understand why! Is it to get popular, to fit in? I know why I do it; it’s to hide in the crowd so I don’t stand out.

I’m a very shy quiet person, perfectly fine with blending in the background. It’s like I even have two sets of clothes, some I wear to school and some I wear during the weekend or summer (printed pants, vintage dresses, etc.) I wear the clothes I want to wear.

Not too long ago I bought a few dresses that had a vintage look; they were loose fitting (not the tight kind of dresses you see today). I instantly fell in love with them and was so excited to wear them, so I showed one of my friends and told her to honestly tell me her opinion... she did and she said they kind of looked like old lady dresses, and she didn't like them. After hearing that I was REALLY close to returning them. All because I was afraid of what others would think and I didn't want to stand out.

Soon after I found the tag above on one of my shirts and I told myself I was going to keep those dresses and wear them because I felt beautiful in them and it didn't matter what others thought. A few weeks later I was feeling brave and I decided to wear one, and as I walked into school that day I was feeling particularly self-conscious, but I did it (and even got a few compliments).

Being yourself applies to all parts of your life, clothes, personality, everything, and if you have no problem being yourself and standing out congrats I wish I could be that confident, and even if you’re not and you afraid what people will think of the real you, just work on it!

Take baby steps even if it’s literally just wearing something you wouldn't normally to school. BE YOU!!!
